Hi @Cliff2,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To resolve the issue with your HP Envy Pro 6455 printer on your iMac, follow these steps.
Download and Install the Driver:
HP provides drivers and software for macOS through its website. Here's how to get them:
- Visit the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads.
- Enter HP Envy Pro 6455 in the search box.
- Select your macOS version from the dropdown menu. (Ensure you select the correct version for macOS 17).
- Download the HP Smart App or the recommended driver for your printer.
Reinstall the Printer:
- Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners on your iMac.
- Select your HP Envy Pro 6455 printer from the list and click Remove Printer.
- Add the printer back:
- Click Add Printer, Scanner, or Fax.
- Select your printer from the available devices.
- Make sure you select HP Smart or the appropriate driver if prompted.
Troubleshoot Scanning Issues:
If scanning still doesn’t work:
- Open HP Smart from your Applications folder.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to set up scanning.
- Ensure that the printer is connected via Wi-Fi or USB correctly.
Reset Printing System (Optional):
If the problem persists, resetting the printing system might help:
- Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
- Right-click (or Control-click) on the printer list and select Reset Printing System.
- Add the printer again and check the scanning functionality.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
