I have a 2800 series all in one I need to set up.  It wants to connect to the internet which I do not want to use.  How do I set it up without using internet?

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP DeskJet 2800 All-in-One Printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

You can set up your HP DeskJet 2800 All-in-One Printer without connecting to the internet by using a USB connection. Here are the steps to do so:

  1. Unbox and Prepare the Printer:

    • Remove the printer from its packaging along with all components like power cord, USB cable, setup guide, and ink cartridges.
    • Follow the instructions for removing the protective tape and plastic film from the printer.
  2. Connect the Power Cord:

    • Plug the power cord into the back of the printer and connect the other end to a power outlet.
  3. Install Ink Cartridges:

    • Lift the ink access door and remove any protective guards.
    • Open the setup cartridges and install them into their respective slots until they click into place.
  4. Load Paper:

    • Adjust the width guide in the paper tray.
    • Load the paper into the input tray and adjust the guide snugly against the paper.
  5. Connect via USB:

    • Insert the USB cable into the printer and the computer. Ensure your computer is turned on.
    • This connection will allow your computer to communicate with the printer without needing internet.
  6. Install Printer Software:

    • If you have the installation CD provided with the printer, insert it into your computer and follow the on-screen instructions. The software will guide you through the setup process without needing an internet connection.
    • Alternatively, you can download software from HP’s support website on a different device with internet access and then transfer it to your computer.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
