I purchased a new HP OfficeJet Pro 6230 printer and it will not print and I cannot get support from HP.  It is a new printer in original packaging. Any suggestions?

Hi @GeeZee,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your new printer—it must be frustrating not being able to use it right away.

  1. Does the printer power on and show any error messages on the display or in the HP Smart app?
  2. Have you successfully connected the printer to your computer or network, and does it appear in the list of available printers?
  3. When you try to print, does the printer respond (e.g., make noises) or remain idle?

What is the exact issue?

Let me know.

I returned the printer to the seller. I set everything  up as you said. I specifically bought this model because it was replacing the same model that I had for 5 years. Everything worked but it gave me an error message that was not recognizing the paper size and would not print. I checked the set up and the paper and the set-up was correct. I even watched a video on Amazon. I tried several times to print a photo. After several attempts to log in to your web site for support ( I was sent to a foreign language version 3 times), I logged on to your HP web support site to upgrade the firmware which the site was unable to do. HP site said that you no longer support this model. Four hours of my time! So I sent the printer back.
