@Bo8839, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If your laptop freezes when attempting to print to your HP Officejet Pro 8610 e-All-in-One Printer, the issue might be related to software conflicts or outdated printer drivers. Here are some steps that you can follow to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this problem:

Check Printer Connectivity:

  • Ensure your printer is properly connected to the network, either by Wi-Fi or Ethernet. If your printer is connected through USB, verify the cable is securely connected.

Restart Devices:

  • Turn off both your printer and laptop. After a few minutes, power them back on to refresh their systems and clear any temporary glitches.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Visit the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for your HP Officejet Pro 8610. Installing the latest drivers can resolve compatibility issues that may cause your laptop to freeze.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Make sure your operating system is up-to-date. Go to 'Settings' > 'Update & Security' > 'Windows Update' and check for any available updates.

Run HP Smart:

Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)

  • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.

Clear Print Queue:

  • Open 'Devices and Printers' on your laptop, right-click on your printer, and select 'See what's printing.' Cancel all pending jobs to clear the print queue.

Check for Software Conflicts:

  • Ensure no other program is interfering with the print command. Check for any running applications that might conflict with your printer software.

Test with Another Computer:

  • Try printing from a different laptop or computer. If the issue persists, the problem may be with the printer rather than your laptop.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
