I allowed update from HP for my printer. After that the printer would not print. So I uninstalled it thinking that I would just reinstall it. Now it will not reinstall automatically. It says to contact manufacturer. Not sure what to do.

Hi @heyude54,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're experiencing issues reinstalling your HP OfficeJet Pro 8028 All-In-One Printer after a failed update, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.
Restart your Computer and Printer:
- Ensure that both your computer and printer are powered off.
- Turn on your printer and wait for it to fully initialize.
- Turn on your computer and try reinstalling the printer.
Download and Install the Latest Drivers:
- Visit the official HP website and download the latest drivers for your printer model.
- Make sure to select the correct operating system version.
- Install the downloaded drivers and follow the on-screen instructions.
Use HP Smart App:
- Download and install the HP Smart app on your computer.
- Follow the app instructions to add your printer and complete the setup.
Windows Troubleshooter:
- On Windows, you can use the built-in troubleshooter to fix printer-related issues.
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.
- Select Printer and run the troubleshooter.
Remove Old Printer Drivers:
- Ensure that all previous printer drivers are uninstalled. You can do this through the Control Panel or Settings on your computer.
- Once uninstalled, restart your computer and try reinstalling the printer.
Manual Installation:
- If automatic installation fails, try manually installing the printer.
- Connect your printer to the computer using a USB cable (if not connected wirelessly).
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Add a printer.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install the printer manually.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
