HP ENVY 4527 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

I've been using this printer for years, but suddenly I can't print anything to it.
The printer is connected to the network, as is my computer. However, when I try to "add" the printer it tells me that the driver is no longer available!

Any ideas?

Hi @AnupamB

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

If you are experiencing issues with your HP ENVY 4527 printer not being recognized due to driver problems, here are some steps you can follow to resolve the issue:

Download the Latest Driver:

  • Go to the HP Support website and navigate to the drivers section.
  • Enter your printer model (HP ENVY 4527) and select Windows 11 as your operating system.
  • Download the latest full-feature driver and software package for your printer.

Uninstall Old Drivers:

  • Open “Settings” > “Devices” > “Printers & scanners.”
  • Locate your HP printer, select it, and choose “Remove device.”
  • Go to “Apps & Features” in Settings, find any HP printer software, and uninstall it.

Install the New Driver:

  • Run the driver installation package you downloaded from the HP website.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

Restart Printer and Computer:

  • Turn off your printer, unplug it for a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Restart your computer to ensure all changes take effect properly.

Re-Add Printer:

  • After restarting, go back to “Printers & scanners” and click “Add a printer or scanner.”
  • Select your HP ENVY 4527 from the list to complete the setup.

Check Network Connections:

  • Ensure that both your printer and computer are connected to the same network. You may need to update the network settings if your router was changed recently.

Update Windows:

  • Sometimes, updating Windows can resolve compatibility issues. Go to “Settings” > “Update & Security” > “Windows Update” and check for updates.

Use HP’s Diagnose & Fix Tool

  • In the HP Smart app, click Printer Settings > Diagnose & Fix.
  • Let it run a scan—it will automatically fix common connection issues.
You can also access this tool on HP’s support page if needed.

By following these steps, you should be able to restore the functionality of your HP ENVY 4527 printer with Windows 11.

Actually I think it seems to be some problem with the printer itself because it keeps saying it's "offline" when it's not. And even when I connect the printer directly to my laptop using a cable it still doesn't print.

Hi @AnupamB

We sincerely thank you for your patience and co-operation during this troubleshooting process.

Since the issue persists, seems to be a hardware issue.

I'm sending you a private message to guide you on the next steps.
