What steps do I take to connect a HP Photosmart C4500 to a MacBook Air with High Sierra operating system. I need step by step instructions as I'm not very computer savvy.

A warm welcome to HP Support Community!

I believe you have to temporarily connect the printer to Mac using a USB cable and then use the wireless setup option in HP Utility to connect the printer to your home WiFi. Let's try these steps:

1.) Connect printer to Mac using a USB cable.

2.) On your Mac, click Finder, click Applications, click the Hewlett-Packard or HP folder, then double-click HP Utility. (If HP Utility is not available, download and install HP Utility from here

3.) Click the plus sign  on HP Utility and add the printer.

4.) From the All Settings tab, click Wireless Setup to launch the utility. Follow the onscreen instructions to connect the printer to a wireless network.

Let me know how it goes!
