Hi @AlbertBenjamin,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding driver of your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand you're looking to download the driver for your HP LaserJet 1005M printer to work with your Mac M2 running macOS 15.3.1 (Sequoia). However, HP has not released official drivers for the HP LaserJet 1005M that support macOS 15.3.1

but we can have a work around with these steps:

Use Apple's Built-in Drivers:

  • macOS often includes generic drivers for older printers.
  • To add your printer manually:
    • Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
    • Click Add Printer, Scanner, or Fax....
    • Select your HP LaserJet 1005M from the list.
    • If available, choose the Generic PostScript Printer driver.
    • Complete the setup and test printing.

Use HP Easy Admin Tool:

  • HP offers the HP Easy Admin tool for Mac, which allows administrators to download drivers without a connected printer.
  • You can download it from HP's official website:
    • Visit the HP Easy Admin page.
    • Download and install the application.
    • Use it to search for and download the appropriate driver for your printer model.

Use Generic PostScript Printer Driver:

  • If the above methods don't work, you can try using the Generic PostScript Printer driver:
    • Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
    • Click Add Printer, Scanner, or Fax....
    • Select your HP LaserJet 1005M from the list.
    • Choose Generic PostScript Printer as the driver.
    • Complete the setup and test printing.

Using the Generic PostScript Printer driver may not provide full functionality, but it can serve as a temporary solution until official drivers are released.

If you continue to experience issues, please let me know, and we can explore further troubleshooting steps.
