Hello! My husband and I are about to move to Portugal from the UK and we are worried that the printer will stop working when we move. I'd like information about how to perform a regional reset, if a regional reset is needed when going from the UK to Portugal. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

 

To perform a printer region reset you need to meet the following conditions.

 

1. The printer should be connected using a printer USB cable to the computer.
2. You need to have the printer full feature software installed on your computer.
3. You need to have all the cartridges either from the region/country from where the printer was purchased originally or the new region/country to which you want to reset it to.
4. Make sure HP Smart App is installed too.

Hi Alden,

Thanks so much for your reply. I am encouraged that there is a way to reset. My husband and I will be moving to Portugal in about 4 weeks' time, so I will hold on to your email and will initiate the reset once we've arrived and are settled. I will email you when I'm ready. Thank you very much!!

Hi Alden,

Thank you very much for your help. I am in Portugal now and have downloaded the HP Smart app. I have also connected my laptop to the printer via a USB cable. I have checked on the full feature software and, from what I understand, the connection to the printer is automatically available on my Mac so I don’t need to download a driver. Is that correct?

 

If so, I am ready for the regional reset now. What is the next step?
