Hello

I "correctly" installed this printer. Testpage is printed. But printed cannot print from any other application.  I once was able to install it better but often, pdf were not printed correctly. I already used the HP website to download the drivers, I already let the computer install the software. It is a sad product...

Hi @Steven1000000,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your HP LaserJet Pro M15a. It can be frustrating when a printer doesn’t work as expected. Here are some steps you can follow to resolve the issue:

1. Verify Printer Setup

  • Ensure the printer is turned on and connected properly to your computer or network.:
  • Since you were able to print a test page, it means the basic printer setup is working, but there might be issues with specific applications.

2. Update or Reinstall Drivers

Download the Latest Drivers:

  • Visit the HP Support website and search for the latest drivers for the HP LaserJet Pro M15a.
  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click on the HP LaserJet Pro M15a and select Remove Device.
  • Go to Device Manager, find any remaining HP LaserJet entries under Printers, right-click, and select Uninstall.
  • Install the drivers you downloaded from the HP website. Follow the installation prompts carefully.

3. Check Printer Settings

Set as Default Printer:

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click on your HP LaserJet Pro M15a and select Set as Default Printer.

Check Printer Properties:

  • Right-click on the printer icon in Devices and Printers.
  • Select Printer Properties and check the settings to ensure they match your print requirements.

4. Check for Application-Specific Issues

Test Printing from Different Applications:

  • Try printing from various applications (e.g., Word, Notepad, Adobe Acrobat) to determine if the issue is specific to one application.
  • If PDFs are not printing correctly, ensure that the PDF reader is updated to the latest version.
  • Try printing the PDF using a different PDF reader or re-download the PDF file.

5. Clear Print Queue

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Double-click on your HP LaserJet Pro M15a to open the print queue.:
  • If there are any stuck print jobs, cancel them and try printing again.

6. Run Windows Troubleshooter

  1. Access Troubleshooter:
    • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
    • Select Printer and run the troubleshooter to detect and fix problems.

7. Check Connectivity

  • If using a USB connection, ensure the cable is firmly connected to both the printer and the computer.
  • If using a network connection, ensure the printer is connected to the network and the computer is on the same network.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
