I have a HP Smart Tank 7602 printer. Bought new, about 2 years old. I have had software problems several times where I had to delete all and reinstall. Currently, the problem is it appears to be locked up. The lights above the paper tray are changing colors. The menu display on top of the printer is displaying "verifying..." with a spinning circle above it like it's trying to do something. This is preventing the printer to not communicate with anything, PC, router, etc. In addition, I can't get into the menu to do anything like restore factory settings etc. Is there a way to clear or dump the printers activity? I'm out of factory warranty and none of the HP solutions work. Please help, I would be most grateful!!!

Hi @Bobcat-13
Ok, let me check what could be done...🤔
Some other users mentioned about a firmware update that needs to be made on the printer.
You can try with the following steps.
- 1. Download the Printer Firmware file from the next link:
- >> Smart Tank 7600 - sayan_premium_003.2610A
- 2. Then copy that file to a USB flash drive.
- Note: works better if USB drive is 8GB or less.
- 3. Turn off your printer
- 4. Wait a minute for printer to turn off completely.
- 5. Then insert USB drive into frontal USB printer port.
- 6. Turn on your printer
- 7. Printer will start and you need to wait for the printer to complete the firmware update.
- Note: full update process could take 5 minutes, so wait for printer to restart.

Dear FerRX, Thanks for your help. You at least got me farther than before. But it didn't work. Your solution took me all the way to where the menu screen was displaying the HP logo and I thought I was home, but it didn't go any further, it never began initializing. I'm freaking out this printer is not that old, less than 2 years, I didn't use it a lot and to be having these problems is frustrating. At any rate, you are far more knowledgeable than I am, do you have any suggestions? I even went through the procedure again and tried a full reset, didn't help. Thanks for your help and patience. Hi FerRX! Man, you're amazing!!!! This one worked!! So, thank you and your contributors for this solution. It's printing so far. I did have to figure out a few things, but they finally worked. I don't mean to further try your patience, but I have one more question. Since I've had this printer, at least three or four times, I've had problems with it's functionality. My solution has been to delete the software associated with the printer, go to HP.com and download all the software and re-install it and that would solve my problem. The software has always been available on the HP site. However, this time either I can't find it or it's not there! I just want to replace the application software that came with the printer. Like a dummy, I had deleted it because I assumed I could fix this problem you fixed the same way. I've used HP printers forever, never bought another brand, I've probably owned at least 10 of them. HP has always been very user friendly. Seems like things have changed. So, do you have any advice as to how I can find the application software that came with the printer? At any rate, again, I can't thank you enough for your help during these dark and trying times. Thank you, Sir!!! Bobcat-13.

Hi @Bobcat-13
Great 😊, nice to know that firmware update worked !
Ok, for the printer driver install use the next:
- Smart Tank 7602 - Easy Start driver for install - Windows
- >> https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/ST7600/HPEasyStart-16.2.4-ST7600_55_3_5043_Webpac...
Well, yes agree, we're going through some tough times right now,
but if we help each other and stay grateful,😌🙏
we'll be able to get through whatever comes our way.
