Microsoft Windows 11

Purchased new printer today.

stuck on initial set up for 3 over hours.

have turned it off and boxed it up, ready to return it…

How do I factory reset and start again on this model

(lcd screen that was stuck on “updating software?” )

Willing to try again before sending back.

Hi,

What exact message is listed on the printer screen? as similar errors may be caused from different causes.

Is the printer connected to the computer with a USB cable or through the network? and do you use the HP Smart app or the HP Smart Tank 7600 software?

Morning

set up was with Microsoft app on windows 11, using wifi connection.

It started the initial set up after connection (we believe it did -as it gave me onscreen option to choose the wifi).

unfortunately the exact message I dont have (will attempt again later this morning and update- however something like “please wait while HP updates software”)

The scan bed glass light was flashing green fast when open.

front light near paper feed, think was white?

the print heads (loaded) do not move into centre of printer when lid open.

When the app tried to find printer again by wifi, it could not locate.
🙂

I do have a printer cable and Ethernet cord which I was thinking of trying however the instructions said noti use the cable in set up.

many thanks

Thanks for clarifying.

Please power on the printer and open the HP Smart app, click the   printer picture and  then click on Advanced Settings.

Open the Tools tab and there expend the Print Quality Toolbox, there click on Align Cartridges and follow the steps on the screen, as well on the printer screen to complete the alignment.

Once the process completes it should recover from the specified message.

If the printer is not detected in the computer please connect it with an ethernet cable, add it from HP Smart and follow the steps above.
