HP Ink Tank Wireless 419

My printer has been working fine for years. But upon unplugging it to move it yesterday  - I am in need of reinstalling it.

HP Print Doctor finds and communicates with the printer fine - But HP Smart - HP Easy Start - HP ITW410_2024A - HP Full Webpak CANNOT find it - Windows DOES find it as well - Printer has been removed and reinstalled numerous time - all connections are fine - Don't know what went wrong - Any help would be greatly appreciated

When reinstalling your HP Ink Tank Wireless 419 printer, it can be frustrating if some applications can't find the printer while others can. 


Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
 

1. Restart Devices

  • Power Cycle: Turn off your printer, computer, and router. Wait for about 30 seconds, then turn them back on.

2. Ensure Network Connectivity

  • WiFi Connection: Make sure the printer is connected to the same WiFi network as your computer.
  • Check Printer's IP Address: You can print a network configuration page from the printer's control panel to find the printer’s IP address.

3. Windows Firewall and Antivirus

  • Temporarily Disable Firewall/Antivirus: Sometimes, security software can block the installation process. Temporarily disable them and try reinstalling the printer.

4. Use the Printer’s IP Address

  • Manually Add Printer:
    • Open Control Panel on your computer.
    • Go to Devices and Printers > Add a Printer.
    • Choose The printer that I want isn’t listed.
    • Select Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname.
    • Enter the printer’s IP address and follow the prompts.

5. Update Printer Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • HP Website: Go to the HP support website and check for any firmware updates for your printer model.

6. Clear Printer Queue and Reset Settings

Clear Print Queue:

  • Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click on your printer and select See what’s printing.
  • Cancel all documents in the queue.

Factory Reset Printer:

  • Follow the printer manual for steps to reset the printer to factory settings.

7. Reinstall HP Software

Uninstall All HP Software:

  • Uninstall HP Smart, HP Easy Start, and any other HP software from your computer.
  • Restart your computer.

Download Fresh Software:

  • Go to the HP support website and download the latest version of HP Smart and other required software.

Reinstall Printer:

  • Open HP Smart and follow the prompts to add your printer.

8. Use HP Print and Scan Doctor HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • HP Print and Scan Doctor: You mentioned this tool finds your printer. Use it to run diagnostics and apply any suggested fixes.

9. Check Network Configuration

  • Router Settings: Ensure that your router’s settings allow for devices to communicate with each other. Sometimes, isolation settings can prevent devices on the same network from communicating.

10. Alternative Connection Methods

  • USB Connection: Try connecting the printer via USB to see if it can be recognized and set up correctly. Afterward, you can attempt to switch back to a wireless connection.
