A client I work with uses legacy software on a Windows Server 2003 RDP session. She recently replaced her printer with a newer Officejet pro 5200. She needs to be able to print on this rdp session.
Normally, I just got and add the print driver to the server, then log her into the session and verify the printer is mapped but its not because I can not get the driver to install.
I have tried earlier iterations of the driver from Windows xp. I have tried the Universal print driver but nothing is working. I essentially need the same exact driver installed on the local machine (Windows 7) and the server (Windows server 2003) but every driver i try is not working.
Can anyone help me locate a legacy driver maybe that could work on both of these Operating Systems? I know i am asking something that may not even be possible but I am at the point where I will try anything if its possible.
Thank you in advance.

Thank you for your response. I tried your suggestions but was unable to successfully install the printer.
I did however setup the printer as a network wireless printer, installed on the server using the "HP officeJet" print driver already installed on the server, printed a test page and it seems to have worked.
I will keep my fingers cross and hope it sticks.
Thanks again!

Hi,
Generally, the printer is supported on Server 2008 or later and no drivers exist for Windows Server 2003, any current HP products are no longer supported on a such, the Compatible network operating systems section within its specifications below, a such would not be supported by UPD as a PCL3 printer:

You may try adding an alternate driver to the server such as the HP Officejet Pro 8500 printer and see if that may work, be sure to add the driver on both
Server 2003 64-bit / Windows 7 64-bit:

Server 2003 32-bit:

Windows 7 32-bit:
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL32659/mp-80902-2/OJP8500vA909_Corporate_14.exe
You may give it a try and see if that may work, however, this printer is not officially supported on Server 2003 and not listed as tested or intended for Remote Desktop Printing, I am really unsure this is the correct printer for such usage:

Hope that may help,
