Product: Laserjet Pro M402DN
Operating System: macOS 10.13 High Sierra

Unable to install the printer since HP Easy Start doesn't work on our network (enterprise lan), unable to use generic driver since it's not working.  Now I can't install it even though the printer was supposed to be Mac osx compatible.  How comes hp can't release a driver for it since the utility will install something in the end why can't I have access to those same file independently from the tool that's not working.

Hi,

Download and install below drivers:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Installations/Essentials/hp-printer-esse...

 

Once done you may add your printer via Printers & Scanners by selecting the Laserjet M402-M403 model within the Use drop down menu.
