I want to deploy all our printers via our RMM tool. I have a script that installs printers by IP address for drivers that are already installed. However, I'm struggling (and frustrated) with trying to install new drivers.
For instance, right now I'm trying to install this driver: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/hp-designjet-t650-printer-series/38030054
I've been working at it for a few hours. I've tried extracting the EXE contents, capturing the %temp% folder files, etc. I've tried every command line switch, /silent /qn, etc and nothing works. I found HP Click "Silent" install but it's also NOT silent, plus it's 500MB.
How can I simply install the drivers above from PowerShell silently? I don't want to add or configure the printer. I just want to install the drivers!

I downloaded the HP Print Admin Resource Kit and went to the trouble of finding the inf file name in device manager for the printer. I then searched my drive for this file and found it in c:\windows\inf. I used the HP Driver Deployment Utility and pointed it at the INF. I set up the network deployment params and created a package. I thought I was finally getting somewhere. I ran it on a test machine:
It's me. I'm the administrator. 😒
