Install printer to Mac

I don’t know how to install the printer to my Mac

i have a HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 printer but it will not print.  it is connected to my iMac computer.  I don't know if it is connected correctly. When I click on print it is ready to print but not printing.

I see that you'd need help with the setup of the printer on the Mac computer, there are two ways to connect the printer, via USB and Wireless.

Since I am not sure about the connectivity type, I shall share the documents for both USB and wireless-

Additionally, you can also configure the printer to print using AirPrint if the printer is connected to the network, refer the document  Printing with Apple AirPrint (Mac) for help.
