Hi everyone,
after moving house I'm trying to setup my printer but for some reason it's not working. The printer always worked fine, never had a problem installing it before. I used to print via wifi. Now that I've moved, there's a new router so I'm trying to connect the printer to it. However, the printer doesn't even seem to be able to connect to my laptop (via cable). When I go to Printers my laptop finds the printer, and when I try to install the printer via HP Easy Start it too notices it in the USB port. However, when I try to connect, a screen pops up saying "Can't communicate with the device". It tells me to turn the printer off and on again, but that doesn't help. I've already tried to install it via several HP manuals by pressing the Wireless button and Information button, but that didn't help me either. Who knows what to do next?
Thanks

@Eva1996, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Do you have an Anti-virus program installed on your MAC?
Update the printer firmware
Click here to download and install the latest firmware from your MAC.
Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.
Also, check for software updates on MAC
Restore default wireless settings on the printer
If the wireless light is not blinking, press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button
at the same time for 3 seconds.
The wireless light blinks.
Connect the printer using WPS method
Locate the WPS button on your router, but do not press it yet.
If your router does not support WPS, skip to the next step to connect the printer with the HP Smart app.
Turn on the printer. If the printer is in sleep mode, press the Cancel button on the control panel.
On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wireless button
for at least 3 seconds or until the wireless light starts to flash.
On the router, press and hold the WPS button for 3 to 5 seconds or until it shows that the WPS connection process has started.
NOTE: The printer stops searching for a WPS connection two minutes after the wireless button is pressed. If you were unable to press the WPS button within that timeframe, attempt these steps again.
Once the printer connects to the wireless network, the blue Wireless light on the control panel turns on solid.
Install the printer using AirPrint
1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.
3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button at the bottom of the list.
4.) Click the plus sign, click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.
5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.
6.) Try to print.
Let me know how this goes.
