@Aakash_NG55,

Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

1. Check System Requirements:

  • Ensure your computer meets the system requirements for the printer installation.
  • Make sure you are using the correct installation software for your operating system (Windows, macOS, etc.).

2. Restart the Installation Process:

  • Exit the installation program completely.
  • Restart your computer to clear any potential issues with system resources.
  • Try running the installation program again from scratch.

3. Check Network Connection:

  • Ensure your printer is connected to the same network as your computer. Check the Wi-Fi settings or Ethernet connection.
  • On the printer control panel, print a network configuration page to confirm the IP address and network status.
  • Make sure your computer is also connected to the same network (wired or wireless).

4. Manually Assign Printer IP Address:

  • If the installation software is not detecting the printer automatically, you can try adding the printer manually by using the IP address.
  • On the printer's control panel, note down its IP address.
  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers (on Windows).
  • Click Add a Printer, then choose Add a network, wireless, or Bluetooth printer.
  • Select The printer that I want isn't listed and manually add the printer using the IP address.

5. Update or Reinstall the Printer Driver:

  • Visit the official HP website and download the latest driver and installation software for the HP LaserJet Pro MFP M128fn model.
    • HP LaserJet Pro MFP M128fn Driver Downloads
  • If you already have a driver installed, try uninstalling it and then reinstalling it with the latest version from the HP website.

6. Check for Firewall or Antivirus Interference:

  • Sometimes, security software (firewall or antivirus) can block the printer installation process.
  • Temporarily disable the firewall or antivirus software and attempt the installation again. Be sure to turn it back on after completing the installation.

7. Run the Printer Troubleshooter (Windows Only):

  • Open Settings on your computer.
  • Go to Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Printer and run the troubleshooter.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to diagnose and fix any issues with the printer setup.

8. Check for Windows Update or Software Conflicts:

  • Ensure your operating system is up to date with the latest updates from Microsoft. Sometimes, outdated OS versions can interfere with printer installation.

9. Use the HP Smart App (Optional):

  • HP also offers a dedicated HP Smart app that can help set up and manage printers. Try downloading the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store (Windows) or App Store (macOS), then use it to connect your printer to the network.

10. Try Installing on a Different Computer:

  • If the issue persists, try installing the printer on another computer to rule out any local system issues.

I hope these steps help resolve the issue

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
