I have a printer on loan from a friend. Don´t have any software for it. I have Windows Windows 10 Home, version 20H2. Trying to find a driver for the printer. Used HPEasyStart_13_6_5 and it finds the printer HP Deskjet F4200 series (although it says F4280 on the printer). Recommends HP Smart.

 

Launching HP Smart: pressing “add printer”, it starts searching for printers but cant find one. Yes, its plugged in and powered on (nothing changed after HP Easystart found the printer without problems). Pressing “search again”, asks which type of printer are you trying to find: I select “USB printer”, it searches again, can´t find the printer.

 

Print and Scan Doctor says “the full software solution for your product is not installed on this computer”. Which I already know because that’s what I´m trying to achieve. Unless I need another software besides the one including the driver.  It says “Get installer”, I press it. Result: “Page not found”.

 

Virtual agent mentions also “HP software”. Should there be software other than the including the driver?

You can try to manually add hp laserjet p1108 driver to test the method:
1.-Download the hp laserjet p1108 driver and unzip it to a folder.

Optional controller: http://h30318.www3.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL34557/dj-109016-3/DJ1000_J110_1313-1.exe

2.-Manually add hp laserjet p1108 driver
Control panel-Devices and printers-Add printer-The printer I need is not in the list-Manually-Use next port-Select USB port-Install from disk-Find the printer driver folder and select .inf Suffix file-open, confirm: next step until complete
Test printing with p1108, thank you.
