Hi @Larud, Welcome to HP Support Community.👋

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The "Extraction Failed" error with "Cannot Delete Output File" when trying to install HP Print and Scan Doctor 5.7.4 usually indicates one of the following issues:

  1. Corrupt or Incomplete Download – The setup file may be corrupted.
  2. Permissions Issue – The installer may not have the necessary permissions to overwrite files.
  3. Antivirus/Firewall Blocking – Security software may be interfering with the installation.
  4. Temp File Conflict – Old installation files might be causing conflicts.

Troubleshooting Steps:

Re-download the HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • Delete the existing setup file.
  • Download a fresh copy from the official HP website:
    • HP Print and Scan Doctor
  • Save it to a different folder (e.g., **C:\HPPSDR**) before running it.

Run as Administrator

  • Right-click the HPPSdr.exe file and choose Run as administrator.

Check for Permission Issues

  • Navigate to C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\Temp
  • Delete all files in the Temp folder (Skip those in use).

Disable Security Software Temporarily

  • Temporarily disable Windows Defender or third-party antivirus software.
  • Try running the installer again.

Run Disk Cleanup

  • Press Win + R, type cleanmgr, and hit Enter.
  • Select C: Drive, check Temporary Files, and click OK.

Extract Using WinRAR or 7-Zip

  • Try extracting the HPPSdr.exe file using WinRAR or 7-Zip and run it from the extracted folder.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day. ☀️📄😊
