@Oliver1098, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're encountering an issue where the HP driver installation for the OfficeJet 4650 on macOS 10.15 Catalina gets stuck at the HP Improvement Survey screen. This is a known issue that can occur with the HP Easy Start installer.

Here's how to resolve it:

Option 1: Bypass HP Easy Start and Install the Driver Manually

  • Go directly to the HP driver download page for your printer: Official HP® Support
  • Under “Installation Software and Driver”, download the “HP Easy Start Printer Setup Software”.
  • Important Step: Instead of running the Easy Start installer, scroll down and look for the “Driver” section and download the full feature software or basic driver directly (if available).
  • Once downloaded, run the installer manually and follow the on-screen instructions. This should bypass the HP Improvement Survey screen.

Option 2: Use HP Smart App (Recommended for macOS)

  • Download the HP Smart app from the Mac App Store. HP Smart
  • Open HP Smart and add your HP OfficeJet 4650.
  • The app will guide you through the setup process, including installing the necessary drivers and connecting the printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
