Hi @Nylander,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your desktop doesn't have Wi-Fi capabilities and you need to install the drivers and HP Smart app for your HP Smart Tank 580 printer, you can still proceed using the following methods:

1. Use a Wired Connection

If your desktop has an Ethernet port, you can connect the printer directly using a wired connection:

  1. Connect the Printer: Use an Ethernet cable to connect the printer to your router or network switch.
  2. Install HP Smart App: On your desktop, download and install the HP Smart app from the HP website or through the Microsoft Store if available.
  3. Setup Printer: Open the HP Smart app and follow the setup instructions to connect and configure the printer.

2. Download Drivers on Another Device

If your desktop cannot connect to the internet but another device can (like a laptop or smartphone), you can download the drivers and HP Smart app on that device and transfer them:

  1. Download Drivers: Go to the HP Support website on a device with internet access, search for the Smart Tank 580 printer, and download the necessary drivers and software.
  2. Transfer Files: Copy the downloaded files to a USB drive or other portable storage.
  3. Install on Desktop: Plug the USB drive into your desktop and run the installation files.

3. Use a USB Connection

If you can connect the printer directly to your desktop via USB:

  1. Connect Printer via USB: Plug the printer into your desktop using a USB cable.
  2. Install Drivers: The operating system might automatically detect the printer and install basic drivers. For full functionality, download and install the drivers from the HP Support website using another device if necessary and transfer them to your desktop.

4. Use an Offline Installation Package

If you can obtain an offline installation package:

  1. Obtain Installation Media: Check if HP provides an offline installation package or CD for the printer. This might be available from the retailer where you purchased the printer or directly from HP support.
  2. Install Offline: Follow the instructions included with the installation media to install the drivers and software on your desktop.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thanks for your reply,

my desktop has an Ethernet port which is connected to the Wi-Fi router, this printer comes with type B USB port only.

I may try the 3rd option by downloading basic drivers and USB connection instead of smart app.
