Envy 5660
macOS 10.15 Catalina

I have been using my HP Envy 5660  all in one for at least 2 or 3 years with no problems at all.  Great little printer.  I've just purchased a new MAC and need to install the software for the printer to the new computer.  I've gone through the virtual assistant, which sucks by the way, and downloaded the app.  This has not helped me in any way.  The printer is working fine as far as printing, however, it will not scan because it says that the software is not installed on the unknown computer.  How do I remove my old computer from the printer and add the correct software to the new computer?  I love being able to scan and create PDF's.  It's been very convenient and I would like to be able to continue to do so.  The app is no help at all.  I would greatly appreciate some help with this.  Thank you.

Hi,

Download and install the HP Essential Software and HP Easy Scan by following the HP Easy Start utility:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Applications/HP_Easy_Start.app.zip

 

Once completing the installation, the Mac should appear as an option on your printer screen.

 

For any issues, open the Applications folder and then the HP Utility program within the HP folder and ensure that Scan to Computer is enabled for the printer.
