Hello @Dallasdeb, Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the HP Deskjet 2900 printer.

We appreciate the opportunity to assist you and are glad we could help work toward a resolution. We hope our support has been valuable.

To help us get started on resolving your issue, could you please try the steps provided below to find the IP address of the printer.

1. Print an Information Report

For printers without a touchscreen (such as most Deskjet models):

  • Ensure the printer is powered on and loaded with paper.
  • Press and hold the Information (i) button for about 3–5 seconds.
  • The printer will print a Network Configuration Page.
  • Locate the IPv4 address on the page (a series like 192.168.1.X), which is your printer’s IP address.

2. Use the HP Smart App

If your printer is already connected to Wi-Fi:

  • Make sure your device is connected to the same network as the printer.
  • Open the HP Smart app.
  • Select your printer from the home screen.
  • Navigate to Printer Settings > Network Information or Advanced Settings to view the IP address.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
