Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I bought an HP LaserJet M234sdw, I connect it to a desktop computer via a USB cable, but Windows 7 can't recognize the device and install drivers. Hp smart also does not work with Windows 7 . What should I do?

Thanks, Andr-1611.

Unfortunately, the application "Full_Webpack-51.7.5628-SJ0001_Full_Webpack.exe" several times displayed a message from Windows Security (pic.1). I chose the second option. Finally as a result I got an installed and working scanner. In Control Panel comes out as an installed device, but not quite (pic. 2).

The solution that now works for me is: All the steps you describe but with other 2022 drivers - "HPEasyStart-13.4.8-LJM232-M237_UWWL_52_2_4918_1_Webpack.exe" ( 289.8 MB )

I downloaded from; https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/hp-laserjet-mfp-m232-m237-printer-series/model/30836610?sku=6GX...

Hello @rganev14-02 ,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Here's what you need to do:

  1. Disconnect printer/scanner from computer- Disable WLAN, WiFi and/or remove the USB or LAN cable.- Do not switch off the printer >> unplug the power cord from the socket!
  2. Uninstall HP Smart
  3. Uninstall HP printer software, and then remove the printer from your Devices list.
  4. Restart the PC
  5. Close all programs
  6. download only this complete package: HP Universal Scan - Full Feature Software and Driver
    File name: Full_Webpack-51.7.5628-SJ0001_Full_Webpack.exe (410.8 MB)
  7. Close all programs
  8. Reconnect the printer to the power supply and switch it on (if this does not happen automatically)
  9. Please note: WLAN has to be deactivated!
  10. Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo > in folder Downloads double-click on the EXE
  11. The installation was completed successfully, now you must ...
  12. Restart the System again
  13. Now the installation is complete.

Document error messages accurately, even better is to take a screenshot of it and upload here.

Hope this helps.

Kind Regards
Andr-1611

Thanks, Andr-1611.
Could you please clarify point 3 - Because I have a HP LaserJet P1005 printer installed. Should I also uninstall and delete it?
Also: at what point should I connect the printer/scanner to the computer? Maybe after point 11?

HP Recommended

Hi rganev14-02

only M234, search for M234.

Do not touch the P1005 printer!

Point-10: The installation will ask for the connection type. Select the connection type = USB. You will then be prompted to connect the printer via USB.

Kind Regards
Andr-1611
