HP OfficeJet Pro 9135e All-in-One Printer

I have a customized hpeprint email address I have been using on my 8610.  I thought I was upgrading when I purchased a 9135e today, but I can't find a way to change the assigned email address to the one I created.  Anyone have a solution?  This might be a *return* and a purchase of a different brand if they've disabled that option.

Hi MrsTony

It seems you want to use a previously customized HP ePrint email address with your new printer model 9135e. Here’s how you can manage and change your printer’s ePrint email:

  1. Sign in to HP Smart: Visit HP Smart and log into your account. Make sure your printer is connected to the HP Smart account.

  2. Change the ePrint Email Address: Navigate to the ePrint Address section within your account settings. Here, you can enter the custom name you wish to assign as the ePrint email address for your printer.

  3. Inform Other Users: If you manage to change the ePrint email address, make sure to inform any other authorized users of the new address.

    Important Note

    • Reuse of Previous Email Address: If you encounter an issue where your previous custom ePrint email already exists or is unavailable, it might be assigned to the printer on a previous HP account, or Web Services was turned off during the transfer.

If you are unable to resolve this by changing the email address through HP Smart, it might be due to restrictions on reusing ePrint addresses previously connected to different devices or accounts. Each device may require a unique ePrint address unless explicitly managed through HP Smart Web Services.

For extended support, you might need to contact HP and inquire if there is an exception or solution to reconnect and reuse previous custom HP ePrint addresses for new devices.

I hope the above is helpful

None of the above was correct.  Ended up calling HP support and "There is no way to transfer the email address you had with the previous printer or to change the assigned email."

This printer will be returned today.  HP needs to create an app or some system to create a smooth transition to encourage upgrades; "custom" settings, Print from Anywhere email address, and anything else should AUTOMATICALLY transfer.  This isn't rocket science... Verizon is able to transfer TONS of info and preferences each time I upgrade my phone; maybe they can help.

@MrsTony

Apologies for jumping in unannounced.

HP Support is correct.

Return Printer?

Your choice, of course.

I have the printer -- nice tech.

The printer does work differently from older top-tier OfficeJet Pro models.

One of these differences is an optional HP+ service pack that enables premium features including Print Anywhere.

-- For those reading --

Print Anywhere shares some of the "under the hood" structure with the old ePrint technology but is a different animal.

The printer's email address is obscured from normal operations.

The Print Anywhere mechanism is different.

Print Anywhere is accessed through the HP Smart application.

Invited Users (loosely based on "Allowed Users" in old ePrint) must install HP Smart on their device.

Important

HP Smart is in the process of being replaced with the HP App.

  • Android is now fully using the "HP App".
  • iOS is in the process of the switch from HP Smart to HP App.
  • Windows still uses the HP Smart application and will do so until HP releases the HP App for this platform.
