I'm unpacking my brand new HP LaserJet Pro MFP M283cdw printer. I put it down next to my older HP LaserJet Pro MFP M277c6 and they look exactly the same except for the color of some of the plastic housing. Does anyone know what the differences are?
I had some minor issues with my old printer when I scanned images, and I also had on-and-off connectivity issues with it. I could live with these things, but thought I'd splurge and upgrade. Now that I'm setting it up, I feel like I just bought the exact same printer! Does anybody know if there are any differences in hardware, functionality or drivers?

These are pretty much like for like repalcements. An upgrade would be moving up to something like the M479.

Thank you for the reply! Honestly, there are no special features that I need (worth upgrading to an $800 printer), but I had hoped I was at least getting a somewhat newer model of what I had with newer hardware or drivers that would hopefully fix some of the issues that I've had in the past with the M277c6. I can't tell you how many times I've gone to print and my computer tells me that the printer is offline! (Then I have to reboot everything, sometimes uninstall and reinstall the printer, etc. It's very random.) It will work fine for weeks at a time and then there will be some random issue.
As I said, when I unpacked the box, I felt like it was the exact same printer that I already have. Nothing looks different except for the color of the housing. I'm wondering if there are any updates to the menus? New circuit boards? Any new hardware at all? Any chance that it will be more reliable? Otherwise, I'm paying almost $500 for exactly what I have.
