Officejet 5610
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I wonder if the 5600 series of Officejet all-in-one printers is no longer being supported.  I have a 5610 model printer which I just use for scanning, as it has a terrific scanner.  The software on my computer, and on my wife's, suddenly didn't work.  I downloaded the drivers for the 5610 from the HP site, but when I tried to complete the installation by connecting the printer and turning it on, the installation refused to complete.  It sites error 33146796 "no Launch line was specified."  I tried this on my wife's computer and got the same result.  There seems to be no trouble shooting package to call HP about this issue for this series of printers.  I wonder if it is no longer able to install.  Does anyone have an answer?

Product series introduced in 2005

Well, the printer documentation is still around - and the Full Feature Software is still available.

Remarkable, really - "shelf life" on printer documentation is longer than other devices; still, ten years is typical and the software sometimes disappears (is no longer available) before that.   Depends on the printer and the particular software that drives it.

Will the older printer software still work in "modern" Windows 10?  Maybe.

There is reason to think it is possible.

Specs show that the printer is connected with USB between the printer and the computer.

True, HP Support won't talk to you about a 16 year old device.

Support of that type is long over for your nice vintage printer.
