We are trying to use a printer via USB on a Yocto Ubuntu-based system. It seems that standard drivers may not be compatible, so we need a printer that supports PCL or PS. Is there a list of printers that support PCL or PS available in one place?

HP Universal Print Drivers (UPD) provide compatibility with these printer languages, which may be advantageous for use in certain environments, such as on a Yocto Ubuntu-based system via USB.

 

HP provides information in their technical documents about compatible printer drivers, including which models support PCL and PS languages. For example, the HP Universal Print Driver (UPD) can operate with HP LaserJet and Business InkJet printers. HP typically supports PCL 6 and PS emulation languages, which are suitable for printing tasks in environments requiring these languages.
