Product: HP Photosmart C4480
Operating System: macOS 11.0 Big Sur

When I connected my Photosmart C4480 to my new Macbook Air 2020 (Mac OS 11.3.1 Big Sur) it came up with a generic driver that will print, but I can't see an option for scanning. Is there available software or do I need to buy a new printer?  Thanks!

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

 

If those drivers are not working, try these:

 

Gutenprint (formerly called Gimp-Print) provides open-source basic print drivers for many printers that would otherwise not be supported in Mac OS X. To see if your printer is supported, go to Gutenprint drivers for more information.

 

NOTE: Gutenprint drivers are not supported by HP or Apple.
