8600

I've always used the HP app on my laptop, to scan images from my 8600.  Recently my daughter moved back in with her 8610.  Just today, I realized for scanning the HP App is defaulting to her 8610, and I can no longer scan from my 8600.  On the print side, there is an option to toggle between both printers.  On the scan side it is locked on to the 8610.  Is there any way for both devices to coexist on the network?

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

Firstly lets completely uninstall the driver which will clear all the printer entry:

Root level uninstall and reinstall printer drivers

  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Officejet printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Then press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
