Issue with printer printing in colour when black & white selected

I recently upgraded my Mac and now on OS Tahoe 26.5.2.  I am trying to print a B&W document with my HP Laserjet Pro 100 colour MFP M175nw.

When I print a PDF that has colour on it, I select 'Print Black & White' on the print menu but the printout is in colour.  

I did try and find a driver for Mac OS 26 for the printer but it appeared there isn't one.  Is that correct?  If so, perhaps this issue of not printing in B&W is related to the driver?  

The printer no longer connects to my wifi either so have been using a direct cable to print.

Does anyone have a workaround to suggest?

Hello.  Thank you very much for your reply.  I'm very grateful.

I have a fundamental problem that the printer won't connect to wifi (I've raised a separate request for help on this on another board).  From the help I got on the other board, the printer briefly connected to wifi and I was able to print a colour document in B&W.  However, the printer has since disconnected from the wifi and I can't get it to connect again.

If I print by connecting the printer to my network via a LAN cable, then I can successfully print a colour document in B&W.

However, if I connect my Mac to the printer via a USB cable, then the printer prints in colour despite selecting B&W.

Do you have any other solution to advise?
