Hi  @Anthony695

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand that your HP DeskJet 2900 series printer is stopping between print jobs and frequently showing as offline. I’ll be glad to help you with some troubleshooting steps.

To better understand the situation, could you kindly share:

  • How the printer is connected (Wi-Fi or USB)
  • Whether the printer goes offline on one device or multiple devices
  • Are there any error messages displayed on the printer, HP app, or computer when the issue occurs?

In the meantime, kindly try the below steps and confirm :

  1. Verify the Printer Connection
    • If connected through Wi-Fi, ensure the printer remains connected to the same wireless network as your computer or mobile device.
    • Printing interruptions can occur if the signal strength is weak or unstable.
  2. Set the Printer as Default
    • Open Windows Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
    • Select your HP printer and choose Set as default printer.
  3. Check Printer Status
    • Open the print queue and ensure Use Printer Offline is not selected.
    • Clear any pending print jobs before attempting a new print job.

Based on your description, the printer itself may still be functioning normally, but the communication between the printer and the computer/network appears to be getting interrupted. When this happens, the computer temporarily loses contact with the printer, causing it to appear offline and pause between print jobs. This can occur due to wireless connectivity interruptions, outdated printer software or network-related settings.

I hope this helps.
