Hi @AJDAPHNE,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Encountering printing issues can be frustrating, but let's work through this. Here's a step-by-step troubleshooting guide.
- Check Printer Connection: Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your computer or network. If it's a wireless connection, ensure that the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer.
- Restart Printer and Computer: Sometimes a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues. Turn off both your printer and computer, wait for a minute, and then turn them back on.
- Update Printer Firmware: Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date. You can usually find firmware updates on the HP website.
- Check Printer Status Lights: If there are any blinking lights or error messages on your printer, consult the printer's manual or HP's support website to troubleshoot those specific issues.
- Check Ink or Toner Levels: Low ink or toner levels can sometimes cause printing problems. Check the ink or toner levels on your printer and replace any cartridges if necessary.
- Clear Print Queue: Sometimes, print jobs can get stuck in the print queue, causing issues with new print jobs. Clear the print queue on your computer and try printing again.
- Reinstall Printer Drivers: Uninstall the printer drivers from your computer and then reinstall them. You can download the latest drivers from HP's website.
- Use HP Print and Scan Doctor: HP provides a free diagnostic tool called HP Print and Scan Doctor, which can help identify and resolve printing problems. You can download it from HP's website and run it to see if it detects any issues with your printer.
- Try a Different Application: If you're trying to print from a specific application (e.g., HP Smart), try printing from a different application to see if the issue is specific to that application.
Give these steps a try, and hopefully, one of them will resolve the issue you're experiencing with your HP Deskjet 2700.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
