There is a definite issue with the HP CP1025NW printer not being able to print from macOS 10.14.x. I am also getting the "Stopped - Filter failed" error when trying to print via Ethernet to the printer, and also by USB. I have followed the whole thread and followed all the steps by resetting the Mac print system and installing the latest available drivers for the printer available from HP support. Where this printer is located is in a basement where our shipping office is located with WiFi not available. I also would like to see that HP works on the issue with the printer not being "compatible" with later versions of macOS.

@krs_cmanley, Welcome to HP Support Community!

Since you have performed all the troubleshooting steps on your Mac computer, let us try resetting the printer and then connect it to your computer.

Restoring the factory-set defaults returns most of the settings to the factory defaults. It will not reset the page count, tray size, or language. To restore the product to the factory-default settings, follow these steps.

1. Turn the product off. Disconnect the power cable and any other cables from the product for 30 seconds and then reconnect.

2. Turn the product on while you press and hold the Resume button for 10-20 seconds. The Attention light turns on.

3. Release the Resume button. The Attention and Ready lights cycle while the product restores factory defaults.

Once the printer is set to defaults, connect it to the network using an ethernet cable.

Add the printer using AirPrint drivers. Follow the steps below:

1.) Download and install HP Printer Drivers v5.1 for OS X from here.

2.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.

3.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign  to delete the printer.

4.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button  at the bottom of the list.

5.) Click the plus sign , click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.

6.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select the name of your printer in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.

7.) Try to print.

The drivers fixed my issue from the link to Apple which is interesting that these are not the same ones available on the HP Support website. These need to be added here since most people wouldn't think to goto Apple to get a driver for their HP printer. I had already factory reset the printer when I originally posted due to the printer having a static IP address assigned instead of having our firewall/router assign one from our reserved DHCP printer pool.
