Keep having error code 79 even after replacing ink cartridges with HP ink.

Hi 

I have an  HP laserjet printer M281 cdw.  I had non HP toner cartridges in it and had to replace after upgrading....now, new HP ink is in printer after spending $200+ and it constantly recycles to '"initializing" but does not print.  Keeps saying 79 Service Error and to turn off the printer.  I have tried turning off wifi, laptop, printer etc and rebooting but does not work.  Wifi says its on and have downloaded firmware, still nothing. Any suggestions?

I'd like to help!

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
