Asking for some help!
I had been having some trouble with my file folder label papers not printing on the labels. Some would be right on and others would be half on and half off. I went to the HP website and read that in your printers settings there would be a page for paper set up. When I went to the paper set up all I saw when going into the paper size and paper type pages was size: envelopes, legal documents, etc. And no label choice. When I went to the paper type page all I saw was plain paper, card stock, legal Document and recycled paper.
Not sure where to find my label setting.
My printer is an HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 and I am printing from the Avery Brand template website with label number 8366.
Thanks

In general, nothing in mobile printing is as well supported or robust as those features / options offered in Windows and MacOS.
Just is.
In spite of the occasional lack of detail in the Specifications and the application settings, the printer actually supports a variety of paper types and weights.
Printer Specifications for HP OfficeJet Pro 6900 Printers
and...
Media Types | Plain Paper, HP Photo Papers,HP Matte Brochure or Professional Paper, HP Matte Presentation Paper, HP Glossy Brochure or Professional Paper, Other Photo Inkjet Papers, Other Matte Inkjet Papers, Other Glossy Inkjet Papers, Inkjet Hagaki, Plain Paper, Thick, Plain Paper, Light/Recycled |
Media Weight Recommended (imperial) | 16 to 28 lb (plain paper); 60 to 75 lb (photo); 20 to 24 lb (envelope); 90 to 110 lb (card) |
Media Weight Recommended (metric) | 60 to 105 g/m² (plain); 220 to 280 g/m² (photo); 75 to 90 g/m² (envelope); 163 to 200 g/m² (card) |
Brochure / Professional paper is typically 180 gsm.
Presentation paper is 120 gsm.
Index Card paper is supported to 200 gsm.
In general, both Brochure and Professional work for Avery labels.
Presentation might work as long as the "label paper" is not one of the heavier varieties.
Caveat: In the case of the two-sided business cards, the better choice would be Brochure over Presentation.
If the plain paper setting in your setup is not working,
try setting the paper in the Embedded Web Server (EWS).
Open your favorite browser > type / enter Printer IP address into URL / Address bar
Tab Settings > Preferences > Tray and Paper Management
If applicable, check the Advanced section (at the bottom of the Tray and Paper Management menu)
Click Apply to save changes
and
EWS is also available in HP Smart Windows and HP Smart Mobile > Settings > Advanced
Example - HP Smart Mobile - Main Menu
NOTE: Smart Tasks is now called "Shortcuts"
HP_Smart_Mobile_Main_Menu_6
General Example - Embedded Web Server (EWS) > Settings > Preferences > Tray and Paper Management
Notes:
- Selections are Printer Dependent.
- Different printers / EWS environments display the information differently - this is an example only.
EWS_9025_Preferences_Tray_and_Paper_Management_All_3
Once the Tray and Paper Management settings are adjusted as best you can do, try printing one of your label sheets.
Leave the paper settings as you must in the application.
Will that work?
Maybe - it has a chance of doing so.
What if?
In general, even when using the more robust Windows / MacOS environment, labels sometimes print more easily when the label document has been exported to PDF.
