I have updated my laptop to Windows 11 and now my Laserjet MFP 1132, will no longer print. I get an error the whole time. Yet it will scan.
I ran trouble shooting and it fixed it. Rebooted the laptop and the error is back.
Is the MFP1132 compatible with Windows 11 or is it time to update the device to a new device?

Hi @martinfe,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're experiencing compatibility issues between your LaserJet MFP 1132 printer and Windows 11. The issues you're facing are somewhat common with older hardware when newer operating systems like Windows 11 are introduced. Here’s a step-by-step approach to determine compatibility and possibly resolve your issue:
Check Official Compatibility: Visit the HP website to check for official statements regarding compatibility with Windows 11. Hp often list which models are compatible with different operating systems.
Update Printer Drivers:
- Automatic Update: You mentioned running troubleshooting that temporarily resolved the issue. This indicates that it might be a driver-related problem. Go to Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates. Windows 11 might find the necessary drivers automatically.
- Manual Update: Visit the printer manufacturer's website and search for the latest drivers for your model. Make sure to select the driver that's compatible with Windows 11. Download and install these manually.
Use Compatibility Mode: If no Windows 11-specific driver is available, try installing the latest available driver in compatibility mode:
- Right-click the driver installation file.
- Choose Properties.
- Go to the Compatibility tab.
- Check the box for Run this program in compatibility mode for, and select the latest version of Windows available (probably Windows 10).
- Run the installer to see if this resolves the issue
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
