Try to install software and it keep timing out giving a fatal error. Windows won't even recognize the printer. It is not a wireless printer and has to be connected via usb cable. Do not have a CD rom drive to use install disk. Need to get this hooked up so I can do my job

I would like to take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums. I understand from your post that you have an HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127fn printer and are unable to install it on Windows 10 (64 bit OS). I'd like to help you with this case. I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job.
I recommend you to perform the below steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a solution:
Let's uninstall any existing printer drivers first:
- In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
- Select your HP printer.
- Select Uninstall.
- In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
- In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
- Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
- Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
- Click on Drivers tab.
- Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
- Select OK.
- Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
- Close Devices and Printers.
Once you perform the above steps, you may download the full featured printer drivers/software from this link: http://hp.care/2gYx24A
I sincerely hope this resolves your issue. Let me know how it goes. Good luck!

I followed your instructions, even though the printer is not even recognized.by Windows. There were no installations of ANY HP printer. Only the Microsoft BS. I tried to install the software per your download and received the same fatal error message, that it took to long to connect and timed out. I don't understand why it does this. This is NOT an old printer and I had no problems connecting it via XP or Vista/Windows 7. I don't know if it is Windows 10 or HP problem, but I need to get this printer hooked up SOME HOW so I can do my job. I am not going to purchase another printer. There has to be a way to get this hooked up. It goes through all of the HP stuff and then it hangs up. I don't understand why it doesn't even recognize the printer when it is plugged in. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @whitcheywoman13,
Thanks for replying. I understand you have tried the steps suggested and still having the same issue. Don't worry as I have few other steps which should help to resolve the issue.
Let's try the steps listed in the support document: A Fatal Error Displays During Software Installation
In the meantime, you could also try with a different USB cable or on a different USB port, just to make sure that it's not an issue with the USB port or with the cable.

Hello, I have downloaded and installed all of the drivers that you sent. The printer is showing up in printers & devices, but still will not print. It is also showing up in devices as a mass storage device. When I run troubleshooter, it does not fix the solution. I can't understand why there is such a problem. I have set my printer as the default, and it's still not working. I am really getting sick of this. Microsoft has no solutions. All drivers have been updated with Dell and Microsoft. I don't know why it is showing up as a mass storage device either. All I want is to be able to print. This is getting ridiculous. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for the reply, since the full feature driver was installed and you are still unable to print, recommend you to use a Windows built-in driver and check if you are able to print. Click here for assistance.
Let me know how it goes.
