The printer is Laser Jet  Pro MFP M225dw.  It stays stuck in the initializing state.  Unplugging and powering off does not work.  It will do this 15 minute cycle repeatedly for a day or more.

I can't find a human to call or even chat with to help solve the problem

Any help would be appreciated.

This is not good. Possibly a reset will work.  There are two resets, not sure if either work:

If necessary you can reset the printer as follows

Press and hold Power On button until the printer shut down.
Press Cancel button and Left arrow and hold down and then press Power On button.
Hold until "Permanent Storage Init" message appears. (This takes about 10 secs)

This video indicates the right arrow was held down.

You can try a firmware update but the printer has to be "ready" which may be a problem if it will not turn on.

Beemere Biker,

Thanks for the response.  My unit is not the same (even thought the model #'s match.)  When I press the off button, there is nothing left to press as the screen goes dark.  There are no other buttons on mine other than the power.  IMG_3713.jpegIMG_3714.jpegThus, I can not do any of the other steps you list.  Am I screwed or do you have any other ideas.  I can not find a way to get an HP person or chat box.  If you know that, please pass along.

Thanks again,

This is a peer to peer forum and I am just a messenger of this bad news:   I do not have any phone numbers for you to call and typically any phone numbers you see on this forum are posted by scammers and the numbers are deleted (hopefully) as soon as they are discovered.

Possibly a weak power supply:  At some point in the bootup power is turned on for the main motor (?) and the required surge stresses the power supply causing failure.  Just guessing.  May need a replacement power supply or maybe main board.  Perhaps inspecting the PCB might help.

There is another possibility.  If your printer is on a surge protection device or a UPS it may lose power at the instant the "fuser motor" starts to turn.  This is due to the surge requirement of a motor when first starting..

Try another outlet or one that is not controlled by a surge protection device.
