@MOTI63, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If the first page of your print job on an HP Laser MFP137 FNW is printed as a mirror image, you can try the following steps to resolve the issue:

Check Printer Driver Settings:

  • Open the Print dialog box in your application.
  • Go to the Properties or Preferences option which should be next to the printer selection.
  • Locate the Effects or Advanced tab.
  • Look for any settings related to "Mirror Image" or "Flip Horizontal" and ensure it is not checked.

Software Update:

  • Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed. Visit the HP Support website to download and install the latest drivers for your printer model.

Reset Printer Settings:

  • If the issue persists, consider resetting the printer settings to their default state. This can be done from the printer’s menu or through the HP Smart App if supported.

Test Different Applications:

  • Print a test page from a different application to see if the mirror image issue is specific to a particular software.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi,
Unfortunately the advanced settings page itself appears as a mirror image. And I can't make any changes to the settings.

Hey @MOTI63

Thank you for your response

That's definitely not normal — seeing the page mirrored and being unable to make changes can be really frustrating. It looks like something’s gone wrong with how the HP Smart app is rendering the interface or talking to the printer.

1. Restart & Test

Fully close HP Smart, not just minimize it.

Reboot your computer.

Reopen HP Smart and check if the mirrored view persists.

2. Try Another User Account

Log in with a different Windows user account (or create a temporary one).

Open HP Smart — if it looks normal here, the issue is tied to user profile settings.

3. Access via Web Interface

Instead of HP Smart, open a browser and go to:
http://<printer IP address>

This will let you access the Embedded Web Server (EWS) interface, where you can usually change all settings directly without the mirror effect.

4. Uninstall & Reinstall HP Smart

Open Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Search HP Smart.

Uninstall it.

Then go to Microsoft Store, reinstall HP Smart fresh.

5. Update Display Drivers

Press Windows + X > Select Device Manager.

Expand Display Adapters.

Right-click your display adapter > Select Update driver > “Search automatically”.

6. Try on Another Device

Install HP Smart on your phone or another PC and check if the mirrored interface still happens.

7. Reset Printer

If none of the above works, doing a factory reset on the printer might help. You may refer to this guide: Restore factory defaults on your HP printer | HP® Support

I hope this helps.
