Hi,

I bought this machine 2nd hand. I cannot get into admin mode to setup scanning. Tried all the usual HP passwords. Machine is printing fine. Do I need to do a factory reset then use the default password. By the way what is default "admin" password for this model?

Thanks in advance

Forgotten admin password is reset by entering the Pre-boot menu and either performing a partial clean or cold reset, either option will clear the admin password and all other settings.

To enter preboot, power off the device, turn the power on and when 1/8 appears at the bottom of the screen, touch the HP logo on the screen. Options you are looking for are under administrator menu.

Hi,

I've reset the admin password in pre-boot menu. I can login to admin at printer but not on web interface page so scanning can be setup. It just keeps saying incorrect password. Is there some type of added security that needs to be reset? Maybe a factory reset? Since this is a "managed" printer does that have anything to do with not allowing someone to access the web interface page?

Customer can print and scan to a flash drive with no problems.

Thanks again for any help
