Hello
I am trying to connect my MacBook Pro running Sequoia 15.5 to a LaserJet M1319f printer but without success.
I have tried downloading the latest drivers but they do not support this operating system.
What should I do?

HI @Refael_n

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for reaching out—and I completely understand how frustrating it is when a trusted printer suddenly becomes incompatible after an OS update. Let’s explore a few options that might help you get your HP LaserJet M1319f working with macOS Sequoia 15.5:

🧩 Why This Is Happening

The HP LaserJet M1319f is a legacy printer, and unfortunately, HP hasn’t released updated drivers for macOS versions beyond Monterey (macOS 12). Sequoia 15.5 doesn’t natively support these older drivers, which is why installation fails or the printer doesn’t appear.

🛠️ Option 1: Use a Generic Driver

You can try adding the printer using a Generic PostScript or PCL driver:

  1. Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
  2. Click the + button to add a printer.
  3. Select your M1319f (if it appears) or click IP and enter its IP address.
  4. Under Use, choose Generic PCL Printer or Generic PostScript Printer.

This may allow basic printing functionality, though scanning features likely won’t work.

🧰 Option 3: Use AirPrint (if available)

If your printer is connected via network and macOS detects it, it may offer AirPrint as a driver option. This is limited but can handle basic printing.

Keep us posted if you need any other assistance.
