LaserJet M2727nf
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a new Windows 10 computer.  Connected to my M2727nf via USB, it recognised the printer, and the basic printing software loaded satisfactorily.   I can print successfully.

I want to scan from the MFD also.  I downloaded the Windows 10 64-bit software from the HP website (it was named M2727series win7-full-solution-v5.2-EMEA2).  The software appears to load up as expected until the point when the USB cable to the printer needs to be connected.  Doing this, the 'Next' button at the bottom of the box remains greyed out, and can't be chosen.  All I can choose is 'Back' and 'Cancel'.  It appears that the software does not recognise that the USB cable has been inserted, even though the same USB cable in the same USB port allows printing as usual.

I've tried installation several times, and also tried a different version of the software (there were four or five versions on the website, with the same name but different dates, and I started with the most recently uploaded version).

I'd value advice.  Many thanks.

Hello @TomCR1, Hope you are well!

Thank you for joining HP support forums. It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel.

I understand you are having issues while trying to scan. I would like to help.

Let’s try to scan using HP Scan and capture app. HP Scan and Capture is a simple and fun application that captures photos or documents from any* HP scanning device or your computer's built-in camera.  These images can be previewed, edited, saved, and shared to other applications.

Go to http://hp.care/2bUVkrw to download and install HP Scan and Capture app.

Hope that helps. Let me know!

Cheers 🙂
