Hi @nspirova,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If your HP LaserJet MFP M141w printer isn't working when connected via USB, here’s a checklist to help you fix it:

Step-by-Step Troubleshooting

1. Check the USB Cable and the Port

  • Make sure the USB cable is securely connected to both the printer and your computer.
  • Try a different USB port on your PC.
  • Try a different USB cable if you have one — the cable might be faulty.

2. Power Cycle

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Shut down your computer.
  • Plug the printer back in and power it on.
  • Restart your computer and try again.

3. Install the Latest HP Drivers

4. Use HP Smart App (Optional but Recommended)

5. Check Device Manager (Windows only)

  • Press Windows + X > choose Device Manager.
  • Look under Printers or Universal Serial Bus Controllers.
  • If you see a yellow triangle or "Unknown Device" for the printer:
    • Right-click > Uninstall device
    • Disconnect the USB and reconnect — Windows should reinstall it properly.

6. Default Printer Check

  • Go to Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  • Make sure the M141w is set as the default.

Try a test print.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
