I to had the issue of my HP LjP1005 not working with any of my programs, even windows also.
I attempted the solutions that were offered in the forum and found that none worked. I am using the proper driver for the printer and my language is english.
What I found to work for me, and perhaps it is just plain luck, was the following:
In device manager: found other device, click on it and did an update driver. This was my yellow flag.
Then installed the basic driver, then a remove with the USB cable attached.
Removed and reattached the USB cable - showed the printer again and printer queues with the printer.
Went into the registery and deleted the registery entries for the HP folders, as per the locations indicated.
Rebooted the computer with the printer cable still attached and the printer on.
Tried to print something it worked.
Again this may only work for me and not other users.
The other thing is that when windows does any updates to version 10 - it screws up alot of settings, deletes apps that you require. Just really stupid things. So it may be the general cause of a lot of issues for this printer.
