I hoped that by updating firmware via a Win10 laptop, the new firmware might assist solving my real problem:

I need to install this printer to a MacBook Pro running Big Sur (MacOS v11.n). Based on forums here, and at Apple Support, apparently the correct PTR driver doesn't yet exist.

I thought I might attempt to get wireless printing working. I cannot access the printer's web browser.

I have connectivity via USB cable. I can print from Windows Notepad. But in HP Smart on Win10 laptop, I am unable to access the printer. It's reported to be offline.

This is a 4-year-old out-of-warranty printer. I am willing to pay for phone support, but I cannot find a way of doing that.

Can you assist by providing me a support phone number where I can pay for someone to assist me?

You could try assigning a Manual IP Address and check if HP Smart App detects the printer and if you are able to access the EWS Page

1) Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can print a Network Configuration page to obtain the IP address.

2) Type the IP address on your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.

3) Go to "Network" tab - General - Select "Network protocols" - Select "Enable IPv4 only" (or similar) - Apply the settings.

4) Go to the “Network” tab – Click on “Wireless (802.11) – Then click on “Network address (IPv4)

5) Click Manual IP

6) If you see a Suggest a Manual IP Address button, click Manual IP address, and the Manual IP addresses are automatically filled out for you.

7) If your page does not have a button to suggest a manual IP address, type the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway using the numbers shown in the report you printed.
