LaserJet Pro 500 color MFP M570dn
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

My LaserJet Pro 500 color MFP M570dn will work fine when hardwired into a network router; but will not communicate through USB.  When attempting to install wiht "HP LaserJet Pro 500 color MFP M570 Printer Series Full Software and Drivers" the software installs; and when the USB cable is attached spends about 30 minutes getting to 99%; then displays "Error."

I have: re-downloaded the file several times, made about 6 attempts at connection, and used both Windows 10 and Windows 7 operating system computers; all with the same Error after spending 30 minutes to get to 99%.

This is the "dn" version without wireless card.

Any ideas?

Thanks, and best regards,

Joe

hi @Joseph_Bruce ,

Sorry to hear about your experience.

Just to make sure we have the right set of drivers, here's the link for it: https://support.hp.com/sg-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-laserjet-pro-500-color-mfp-m570/521090...

Also please follow the instructions below for a successful driver download and installation. Hope all goes well. Let me know if this worked.  Thanks.

(Note: Do not connect the USB cable until prompted.)

1. Close any software programs running on your computer
2. Turn on the printer.
3. Click on the 'Download' button on this page.
4. Click 'Run'. The file will be downloaded to a temporary folder on your PC.
5. Click 'Run' again. The files will be extracted and the installation process will automatically start.
6. Follow the on-screen instructions to proceed with and complete the installation.

To install at a later date, select 'Save' on step 4 and select a location on your hard disk. When ready to install, locate and double-click the file. This will automatically extract and start the installation process. Follow the on-screen instructions to proceed with the installation.

Thanks Waynetheshane:

I don't know if it fixed itself; or if someone came along behind me and did it.  Working now.  This is also (probably) the worlds only wireless M570dn.  Pretty easy conversion.

Thanks again,

Joe
