Product: color Laserjet MFP283fdw
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I own both the Color Laserjet MFP283cdw and the MFP283fdw.  I have just discovered that the fdw (which I just bought) does NOT have the duplex scanner that the cdw does, so you can't do two sided copying or scanning. with the fdw.  I have a suspicion that the paper handler for the scanner might have been problematic so HP simply disabled it in software in the fdw model.  Does anyone have any background on this and is there a way to enable the duplex scanner if the hardware is still there?
